Balancing Bad News with Solution-Focused Stories

A constant flow of negative news has become part of our daily lives. But is the news we consume giving us an accurate picture of the world we live in?  Is there a better way to deliver bad news that doesn’t end with doom and gloom? April and Christa talk with Dr. Karen McIntyre to explore these questions.

Dr. McIntyre is an Associate Professor of Journalism and Director of Graduate Studies for VCU’s Richard T. Robertson School of Media and Culture.  Her research primarily focuses on constructive journalism, an emerging form of journalism that involves creating more productive and solution-focused stories.
