Anika L. Hines, PhD, MPH is director of the Equity in Cardiovascular Health Outcomes Lab (EqCHO) where she presides over the Art for Hearts study, a clinical trial that alternates between painting and heart health education — learning how stress reduction affects blood pressure and other measures of health. In this episode, Dr. Hines discuss how important it is, particularly for Black women, to regularly monitor blood pressure and stress to ward off high blood pressure — an indicator of cardiovascular disease and stroke.
